The Chenzhou special product Linwu duck is a well-known specialty of Linwu County. It is a tribute of all previous dynasties, and one of top eight ducks in China. Its duck pulp is delicate; the flavor is tasty. It is known for the function of "nourish yin and diminish fire, improve looks and health" Local people name it "Hook-mouth duck". The male duck weights 2.6 to 3 kilograms, while female duck weights 2 to 2.5 kilograms. They are excellent for both meat and egg. No matter whether it is burnt, fried and pot-roasted, or processed to be salted duck, pressed salted duck, the flavors are unique. It ranks ahead in the national level, and is popular in domestic and foreign markets. In 1984, it was written down "Hunan Province Domestic Animals and Domesticated Fowls". In 1986 it won gold prize in the Hunan Province High Quality Agricultural Products. Successively it is listed in the city, county's "The Ninth Five-year Projects" of Seedling Construction and the Agricultural Industry Construction Priority Project. At present, the county feeds more than 2.3 million ducks.
